Education for Equity

Launchpad to Career Success is a 7-chapter teacher professional development course designed to equip educators to guide students through the complete, practical path from career exploration to first-job success. Across its chapters, teachers learn to lead students through a structured self-assessment process connected directly to their current coursework (Chapter 1), write an achievement-focused resume from real but informal experience like babysitting or volunteering (Chapter 2), craft a compelling cover letter and build a safe, age-appropriate LinkedIn profile (Chapter 3), network effectively using research on how job leads actually spread through casual acquaintances rather than close friends (Chapter 4), run mock interviews using the STAR method (Chapter 5), thrive during a new job's critical first 90 days using a research-backed 30-60-90 framework (Chapter 6), and search safely across today's job platforms while targeting employers known for genuinely investing in entry-level talent (Chapter 7). Every chapter pairs a verified video resource with classroom-ready implementation checklists, and the course closes with a hands-on final project — a fully worked sample resume and cover letter built directly into the page — that ties all seven chapters together into one real, submittable deliverable students can model their own work after.
